Where to Start?

Everyone always asks me where to start! I always suggest starting with the Sunday paper! I buy one paper for every person in my family, but maybe start with buying 2! Clip those coupons and organize them as you see fit. I organize in a binder, I have 24 dividers, 4 different page protector sizes, STORE COUPON POLICIES, all put into a 3inch binder! find out more about organizing here!

Sale Cycles
Why stockpile? Well sales have cycles. Now, you don't have to buy 157 years worth of dental floss, 238 years worth of toilet paper, or 96 toothbrushes if you don't feel a need for it. But having a small stockpile is the way to go. Lotions and skincare products tend to have a better sale towards the summer, when skin is shown more, oatmeal tends to be cheaper in Janurary when everyone makes their "be healthy" resolutions, etc. For the sake of saving me time, follow this link to view the cycles! http://www.grocerycouponguide.com/articles/guide-to-sales-cycles-for-rock-bottom-prices/
Where to find coupons?
There's seriously a myriad of places to find coupons...
1-Sunday paper
2-FACEBOOK! Friend, like, whatever it is....all the companies that you use! There's constant product giveaways and coupons being posted on FB.
3-Online: Smartsource.com  /  CouponNetwork.com  /  Coupons.com  /  Redplum.com  /  Target.com  /  and the company's website
4-Coupon Clipping Services: My favorites: KuntryKlippers.com  /  Lorihas3kids.com / ClippityQ.com
They don't make coupons for things that I actually will use....Why, yes they do. CONTACT those companies. If you want bananas, contact Chiquita and tell them you love their product and would like some coupons. If you eat tuna, email Bumble Bee. Like Naked Juice? Well they want you to buy their product so they'll give you coups!

There are 2 different kinds of coupons: Store issued coupons and Manufacturer issued coupons. MOST stores let you use BOTH kinds of coupons on one item. You cannot use 2 store coupons on one item or 2 manufacturer coupons on 1 item. Only ONE store coupon and ONE manufacturer coupon PER ITEM. Target and Walgreens are notorious for these deals!
For example, right now there's a manufacturer issued coupon for the new John Frieda hair dye for $5 off their product. There's also a $5 off the same hair dye issued by Target. You can use BOTH coupons for a total savings of $10 off. Well, that hair dye is on sale right now for $11.99. Using both coupons you get it for $1.99!

Double Coupons: Some stores double the amount of money on the coupon, for example, instead of $1 off of Foster Farm's chicken, they'll give you $2 off! Some stores double up to $1. Say you have a .75 off of Fritos coupon, they'll give you $1 off. Other stores don't double at all (the commissary does NOT). I suggest checking with your store manager for their doubling policy, as some stores have specific days where they double (or even triple).
